"Rather lovely is it not?" Said I as I passed.
"Indeed, it is." Said she after a moments' elapse.
"Did you take note the difference?"I politely questioned.
"Why, no I hadn’t," she insisted "what is it you reference?"
"Simply, the trees in this park, in hours as this,
Cast shadows elongated so easily missed."
"Quite right, you're correct!" She excitedly spoke,
"I have failed to notice such a noteworthy note."
"A 'noteworthy note'? Do you taunt me in jest?"
"I'm sorry, I do not; although, I must contest...
Why is it that you pause from your afternoon walk,
To extend your observations in cordial small-talk?"
"Alas, I confess - though my intentions were sincere -
I have been collecting the courage for nearly a year."
"The 'courage' you say? Why, whatever do you mean?"
"The courage, indeed, stemming from low self-esteem."
"You see, I have observed your presence for periods of time;
Though, I failed quite despondently at greetings and lines."
"Well, I'm certain that I do not bite" She responded at last,
"I'm really quite flattered," she said, "and taken aback."
"Honestly?" I questioned, outwardly too excited.
"Honestly," She confirmed, "for I have seen you hiding!"
"You have?!" I implored, wrenching my hands.
"I have." She smiled. "shall you continue to stand?"
"Stand you ask? Indeed I'm standing alright."
"No, would you care to sit, as I said, I don't bite."
"OH, I SEE, YES" I replied in an embarrassing wince,
And at last settled next to her on the shaded park bench.
"Rather lovely is it not?" She graciously laughed.
"Indeed, it is." Said I after a moment had passed.
"Did you take note the difference?"She politely questioned.
"Why, no I hadn’t," I smiled "what is it you reference?"
