THE HIDDEN TRACK

The following passages are dedicated to Leopold, to the vernacular, to certain evil women (you know who you are), to certain wonderful people(they know who they are), to soft afternoons and quiet Sunday evenings, to Fall and seeing your breath for the first time since Spring, and to Isabelle Ya Feng ... a soul slipped by like two ships passing in the still, moonlit sea.
-- Abraham Ahmed, the Surfing Beatnik

Ah yes, Gabe...

Gabe was never a very athletic kid. To put it plainly he hated most events relating the art of kicking balls, throwing balls, or balleting balls with a stick into the impossible side-pocket ... Gabe was a transendental and a lunatic of the most unholy kind. He dug The Melvins, Mudhoney, and an occasional smidgen of The Minutemen.
Gabe's ideology was forever on trial -
Though Gabe's faith was found -
Gabe didn't give shit if 45mph sometime allowed for 50 or even 55........Gabe was a 99mph-mutherforfinger!
